As a pitch artist at W2M, you'll use your creativity, writing skills, and interpersonal skill to craft stories about W2M clients that editors can't wait to print. You'll contact editors by phone, email, and mail with these story concepts. You need to enjoy working by phone, be a compelling writer, and enjoy a mix of sales-oriented work (pitching stories) and creating high-level story ideas that work for our clients.
Writer Associate
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Job Description
You’ll work with writers, editors, and clients to coordinate projects and provide background support to large projects. As the writer associate, client support issues often land on your desk, including minor technical support issues. You’re comfortable helping people and easy under the pressure of deadlines—you realize your job is to make people happy and you’re empowered to do a lot that can help. You’ll be on the phone a lot, on email a lot, and required to work a variety of tasks in a single day. You’re extremely responsible and organized and take great pride in your work. You’ve got to be ace at learning new things fast, and help keep us all on our toes J.
As a writer associate, you will be called upon to do a variety of tasks. Some of those look like:
-Attend meetings with clients and take notes, follow up on deliverables (consultative/administrative)
-Send out proposals, and follow up on them (administrative)
-Research background for documents (analytical)
-Design, in Word, templates for white papers and case studies (creative)
-Write assignments, like press releases, case studies, blog posts, web copy (creative)
-Call meetings with writers and editors on the phone (administrative)
-Post press releases to wire distribution services (technical)
-Pull media lists from databases we subscribe to (technical)
-Send out merge emails and merge letters (administrative)
