Media relations on fire at tech and energy event

Last Wednesday, with one of Atlanta’s worst lightning storms bearing down on the city, GigaOm Meetup Atlanta had a very successful event with a packed audience featuring many of the “who’s who” of the tech scene in Atlanta.

If you’re not familiar with GigaOm, they are the leading source of analysis on emerging technologies. Their news, research and events provide deep insight on the companies, people and trends disrupting technology and media.

This event featured a very interesting discussion on mobile marketing and commerce. Some of the highlights from the discussion included how Atlanta is a very strong center for mobility because of support it receives from AT&T Mobility and how companies like AirWatch are growing significantly, having recently added 1,000 new employees this past year.

One of the discussions that I really enjoyed was Tom Daly from Coca Cola, Chris Huff from the Weather Channel and Stacy Higginbotham of GigaOM, talking about customer engagement in a mobile world. That discussion really hit home with what I’ve been reading recently on customer engagement and mobility.

I think it’s a great thing to be able to bring the Atlanta tech community together for these types of discussions.

Way to go GigaOM!!
